After 5 yrs of working in a cubicle, I feel like I’m emerging from a coffin. I guess that sounds extreme, and I know other people are better able to balance stasis with movement than I am. I appreciate the financial stability that the job (working for a dinosaur of an institution) gave me — enough to allow me to take a lengthy break now.

But, man — after a certain age, it’s more of a challenge to retrain the blood, limbs, and brain, to find the flow.

A found poetry object, received from Bill Allegrezza. I have placed it on my writing table and photographed it in an order in which it might be read. Thank you, Bill!

A Flare for Jean

Elsewhere, I have written about the musical properties of pink, but on this day, fire (albeit another’s) provides needed warmth.

Seattle waterfront earthquake simulation.

Simulations of actual places fascinate me. There is another version with obnoxious rock music, and one with really bad sound effects and screams that sound so fake it’s funny. This is the silent version, with subtitles. Of course, you can always go to Pandora.com and play some earthquake music for a soundtrack.
