the other home cooking

Leny mentions that she makes a good nilaga, and I have no doubt about it. But last night my good friend led me to the other comfort food cafe: Sarita’s, on Reservation Rd. in Marina. While it’s a Mexican restaurant, the chicken soup w/vegetables is EXACTLY like my mother’s nilaga (and maybe even, dare I say it — better!), except for the substitution of chicken for beef. In fact it looked exactly like this, minus the beef. Heaven.
